Cochem

Situated in the valley of the Mosel, Cochem is surrounded by vineyards. The town, in particular its old quarter, is dominated by the late-Gothic castle, the Reichsburg. There is also a preserved mustard mill. This was built in around 1810, and is the only surviving example in Europe. The old quarter of Cochem is also home to preserved sections of the town walls and three of the wall's gates. There is a fascinating arts centre housed in Cochem's former monastery.

“Magical trips on Mountain railways, sailing across Lake Lucerne and then cruising down the Rhine and Moselle on a magnificent ship with jaw dropping scenery all planned to perfection by a first class company. Would definitely recommend Great Rail Journeys.
